The second event of the #GBT2024 tour transported us to the scenic landscapes of St Annes Old Links GC in Lytham St Annes. A stark contrast from last year’s coastal blizzard, this year greeted us with lush greenery, courtesy of the past nine months of rainfall. Despite the weather challenges, St Annes Old Links once again showcased its prowess as an exceptional year-round course.

As depicted in the video footage, the GBT sunshine made a triumphant return, accompanied by the quintessential stiff breeze, offering players the authentic links experience. Amidst the windy conditions, we witnessed remarkable scoring, with Colin Elliott’s near hole-in-one adding to the excitement. Kudos to the St Annes Old Links staff for their impeccable hospitality, ensuring a memorable experience for all. The members and guests gave rave reviews about the chef-made steak pie and Bakewell tart speak volumes of the dining experience. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for their outstanding service.

St Annes Old Links Winners:

Winner:  Mike Mike Birchall (BEA) – 40 Pts BB9

A stellar performance from first-time winner Mike, whose warm headgear seemingly brought luck to the course. Congratulations on an impressive victory!

Runner Up: Chris Stanley (Ryan) – 40 Pts

Chris redeemed himself from the previous event, ensuring a podium finish with commendable determination. Kudos, Chris, though the choice of a bobble hat indoors remains a mystery.Mansell (ADT Workplace) – 38 points

Third Place: Michael Lythgoe (Dealercast) – 39 Pts BB9

Speed golfer Mike showcased his prowess with an outstanding round, contributing significantly to his journey towards the final. Well-deserved congratulations, Mike!

Guest Winner: Tom Traynor – 38 Pts

Tom’s exceptional under-par round of golf secured him the guest winner title. Kudos to Tom for an impressive performance!
