GBT2024 – Sandiway Golf Club

We were incredibly fortunate with the weather, experiencing near-perfect conditions throughout the day. Despite a few temporary greens on the front nine, Sandiway showcased its resilience, standing firm against the rainy backdrop of the past eight months. It’s no wonder this course remains a firm favorite among our members and guests, offering not only exceptional golf but also breathtaking scenery.

As captured in the video, the GBT sunshine made a glorious appearance, accompanied by comfortably warm temperatures. And who could forget Warren Lunt’s remarkable twenty-foot putt for birdie on the 8th hole? Moments like these truly epitomize the essence of GBT events.

The competition was fierce, with returning members Rory Alkin and Mark Ball delivering outstanding performances. Their dedication and hard work over the winter months certainly paid off on the course.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the exceptional hospitality of the Sandiway staff. From the mouth-watering lemon chicken and veg to the delightful gluten-free cheesecake, every detail was meticulously attended to, ensuring a memorable experience for all.

Runner Up: 🥈 Mark Ball – 40 (Q Financial) – 40 Pts

Another returning giant of the GBT tour (literally). A super round of golf from Mark, who hasn’t hit a ball since our GBT final last year.

Third Place: 🥉 Mike Birchall (BEA) – 38 Pts

Two podium finishes on the bounce for Mike. A nice little run of form, early doors, will certainly help in posting a OOM target for the rest of the field.
