GBT2024 – Wilpshire Golf Club
26th June 2024 Results
I hope you are all keeping well and enjoying our four and a half days of summer. I’m back with the results and the link to the video from our event yesterday at Wilpshire Golf Club, which I urge you all to watch to see what a hidden gem of a course this is.
What a beautiful day it turned out to be on both a stunning yet challenging course (speaking from experience, as I got to play this one). Wilpshire Golf Club is located in the Ribble Valley. Established in 1890, the James Braid designed 18-hole course makes excellent use of the upland heath terrain. The course may be testing, but it is also an incredible one to play.
There were several blind tee shots that kept us on our toes, and the course offered the toughest undulating greens that I’ve encountered this season. (The tap-ins were not for the faint-hearted.) This is definitely one for the ‘golfers bucket list’.

Wilpshire Golf Club Winners:
Winner: 🥇 Danny Parker (SevernSevern) – 37 pts
A first podium finish for Danny, which I predicted on the first tee. Reason being: it’s the first time he’s hit the fairway with his opening tee shot!

Chris is in the form of his life on this year’s tour. (Maybe it’s the inspiration garnered from caddying for last year’s winner, Jon Anderson.)

Third Place: 🥉 Eddie Frost (Genisis) – 35 Pts
A super round of golf from our scratch golfer, Eddie. He seemed so elated to have been pipped out of second place by Chris on a count back.
