🏆⛳️ The #GBT2023 Leigh Golf Club event was an absolute triumph, with perfect weather, pristine course conditions, and some remarkable golfing performances. 🌞🏌️♂️
We extend our deepest thanks to our event sponsor, The Directors Helpline, for their invaluable support in making this day a resounding success.
🤝The competition on the course was fierce, with some standout performances that had everyone on the edge of their seats.
🥇 Mark Tighe from Catax took the top spot in the Member category with an impressive 38 points.
🥈 Alex Lundi, a Leigh Golf Club member with a +2 handicap, secured the Runner-Up position with 37 points.
🥉 The third place was determined in a back card play-off, with Paul Johnson, the Captain of Northenden, emerging victorious also with 37 points.
🏆 The Guest Winner title was claimed by Andy Seddon, who delivered an under par performance with 37 points.
Our nearest-to-the-pin champions showcased their incredible skills throughout the day:
🎯 David Hind on the 5th
🎯 Trevor Roberts, who came within 2″ to a hole-in-one on the 7th
🎯 Steve Critchley on the 12th
🎯 Alex Lundi on the 15th
⛳️ The Scores: From Birdies to Bogies
We witnessed some incredible performances on the course. Twenty Nine players showcased their skills by shooting better than 30 points, while others battled it out to improve their scores. From the lowest score of 21 points to the outstanding high of 38 points, every swing had its own story to tell.

Road hole 12th Stroke 16 – Par 3 – 142yds: 4 birdies, 9 par’s, 20 bogeys, 5 D bogies & 6 worse.

🤣 The Comedy: Laughter on the Fairways 🤣
Mother Nature herself yet again gave us superb weather, although I’m sure some felt it was rather sweltering!
Leigh Golf Course, although in yards is one of the shortest courses we have played, however with its tree lined tight faiways and small greens provides a stiff challenge. The course was in superb condition and fast greens.
Our taste buds were treated to a culinary masterpiece of beaf pie, chips and peas enhancing the camaraderie among members and guests, making the day unforgettable.
Amidst the impressive scores, the day was peppered with laughter-inducing tales, take a look at the video, how many lipouts? Laughter truly is the best medicine on the fairways!

Nearest the Pin Winners
🎯 Nearest the pin winners added an extra thrill to the day. Congratulations to David Hines securing nearest position on the 5th, the 7th and only 2″ away from a hole in one Trevor Roberts, Steve Critchely 12th and Alex Lundi again within a foot on the 15th. Fantastic shots, everyone! 🎯
