Four golfers carrying their golf clubs across the golf course.

After a great golf networking tour last year, we will be returning to play at some of the finest courses in the North West.

Amongst our course selection this year, we will be visiting some old favourites, along with exciting courses never seen on the GBT Tour before. Whether you prefer links, parkland or heathland, this year’s tour has you covered.

Our 2022 tour starts earlier than last year, beginning on the 24th of February, so make sure you layer up!

What courses are on this year’s golf networking tour?

West Lancashire Golf Club

West Lancashire Golf Club will be the first event of the year, a regular on the GBT tour and one of our favourites. Ranked 28th in Golf World Top 100 in England, this classical links course located on a delightful stretch of prime links land, has firm fairways, well-designed holes and undulating dunes – a true links test!

St Annes Old Links

Another great course to tick off your bucket list this year is our second event that is taking place at St Anne’s Old Links Golf Club; an Open Final Qualifying Venue and a wonderful links experience. In 2018, it became the first venue to host the final qualifying for both the Open Championship and Ricoh Women’s British Open in the same year.

The course is flat, windswept and stark where little other than a few twisted trees survive the fierce westerly winds – this pure links course is a real challenge.

Sandiway Golf Club

Following the two links courses, we’ll be heading to Sandiway Golf Club, which in recent times has been the venue of both amateur and professional national competitions, as well as innumerable County competitions and Inter-county matches. Indeed, Cheshire County Golf Executive has used Sandiway clubhouse as its unofficial headquarters for many years.

Sandiway is a delightful wooded, heathland course, and it’s quite rightly regarded as one of the best inland courses in the north of England.

The Marriott Worsley Park Golf Club

The Marriott Worsley Park Golf Club is making another welcome appearance this year, a regular on the GBT tour and the home of the Golf and Business Together’s directors.

The PGA championship course has hosted PGA EuroPro Tour Events, and features wide fairways, immaculate greens that run smoothly all year round, and has its own practice facilities.

Widely regarded as one of the finest inland courses in the North of England, Worsley’s course gained particular praise from Golf World magazine, suggesting that the architects had excelled themselves by transforming a nondescript piece of farmland into a thing of wonder.

Slaley Hall

One to look forward to this year is the away trip which has now been confirmed at Slaley Hall, a European Tour and PGA Seniors location with the renowned ‘Hunting Course’, a course that should be on every golfer’s bucket list.

The away trip will consist of two rounds of golf, dinner, and bed and breakfast.

And many more events on this year’s GBT golf networking tour…

We look forward to another great tour in 2022, starting at one of our favourite courses, West Lancs on 24th Feb.
