GBT2025 – St Annes Old Links – Results
20th March 2025
Welcome to the results page for the GBT2025 St Annes Old Links event
The GBT 2025 Tour is officially underway, and what a way to follow up from our opener at West Lancashire Golf Club.
What a glorious day for golf and business! The sun shone brightly, the temperature reached the sixties, and a gentle easterly breeze drifted lazily through the course. Perfect conditions for such a fantastic links course.
We saw more excellent scoring, as you’ll see from the results below, and an impressive chip shot from Mike Lythgoe that was caught on camera. Everyone commented on how slick the greens were, a welcome change after a wet winter’s heavy greens.
As always, the staff at St Annes Old Links looked after us incredibly well. Rumour has it that the steak pie and apple pie with custard were absolutely delicious — the perfect hearty meal after 18 holes.
A huge thank you to the St Annes Old Links staff for their top-notch service and hospitality – from the course conditions to the food, everything was spot on!

Teknobu Tiger Analysis
Congratulations to all winners and participants for making the GBT2025 West Lancs event a resounding success! Keep an eye on your inbox for the updated league standings, and let’s keep the excitement rolling all the way through the GBT2025 Tour!
The Teknobu Tiger leaderboard continues to take shape as the season progresses. Robin Raymond’s remarkable 39 points put him firmly in the spotlight, but it’s the consistent contenders that are proving to be a real talking point.
Matt Watts is showing remarkable form, backing up his 38 points at West Lancs with a 39 at St Annes — clearly a name to watch throughout the season. Steve Sewell’s consistency is also noteworthy, following his 30 at West Lancs with a strong 37 here.
Kieran Bate’s excellent 36 points secured him the Guest Winner title and positions him as a strong contender going forward. Meanwhile, Mike Lythgoe’s incredible chip-in shows that skill and a touch of magic can make all the difference — a reminder to the chasing pack that one good shot can turn your round around.
Expect strong performances from players like Colin Elliott, Andy Knight, and Paul Johnson, who continue to post competitive scores and stay in contention.
Teknobu’s guest, Mike Waterfield and Martin O’Hara, brought plenty of entertainment to the course at St Annes Old Links. Mike’s tee-to-green game was a masterclass — fairways found, greens hit, the lot! But when it came to putting… well, let’s just say the “Best Putter at Marriott Worsley Park” must have left his magic wand at home. Rumour has it the greens were so slick, Mike considered applying for a speed limit sign! Meanwhile, Martin showed solid consistency and was all smiles throughout. Great effort from both – next time, Mike, maybe pack a GPS for those putts!
