The Hall Course – Resilience, Rallies & Rayner’s Revenge?
After a spirited (and for some, spirit-fuelled) evening of drinks, laughter, and brilliant entertainment, our golfers returned for Day 2 at the stunning Hall Course—a true test of stamina, skill, and staying power.
The previous night’s festivities had clearly taken their toll, special thanks must go to Paul Johnson, who once again proved why he’s one of GBT’s most talented showmen—not just for hosting an epic quiz, but also for tickling the ivories with an impromptu piano session. Rumour has it, he’s also a magician… and if you saw your scorecard mysteriously drop overnight, now you know who to blame.
Despite a few bleary eyes and some slower swings, Day 2 didn’t disappoint. The Hall Course pushed players to dig deep—and some rose spectacularly to the occasion.
The Seventh event of the GBT2025 tour was nothing short of spectacular.
The Hall Course Winners:
Winner: 🥇 David Griffin (Release My Equity) – 36 pts
Serial winner, Tour Finalist showed he is pure class on day 2 of the trip.
David, tackled the conditions (heat and a bit worse for wear) with ease.

Runner Up: 🥈 Robin Raymond (AFS Biomass) – 34 Pts
Yet another runner up from Mark’s group. He would like to say he helped Robin with his solid round, but sadly, no, he did it all himself. A gritty knock indeed. Well played and congratulations, Robin !

Wrapping Up & Looking Ahead
With another away trip in the books, we’re left with memories of birdies, banter, and Pauls entertainment and one of the ‘Founders’ bedtime bar performance. From fairways to foot-tapping evenings, this year’s Oulton Hall event had it all—sunshine, solid golf, and the special GBT camaraderie we all know and love.
As we now look ahead to our next gathering at Bury Golf Club on Wednesday 10th July, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to every player who made Oulton Hall such a success. You brought the spirit, the stories, and the swings.
