GBT2025 Huddersfield Golf Club – Results & Highlights
Thursday 22nd May 2025 – Results and Roundup!

The GBT2025 tour made its way to the historic Blackburn Golf Club, and what a day it turned out to be! With a course that demanded accuracy and imagination from the very first hole, and a clubhouse experience that delivered top-tier hospitality, it was a true celebration of golf and business together.
Founder Mark Brown summed it up best:
“Blackburn has one of the trickiest opening tee shots I’ve ever seen. A short 270-yard par 4, but with OB right, a steep right-to-left fairway, dense trees left and… a 30-meter fence protecting the clubhouse from wayward drives! It’s both hilarious and terrifying!”
The test didn’t stop there. The course delivered a range of clever holes, fast greens, and some outstanding views across the Pennine Hills and even out to the Lancashire coast. Watch the video highlights to appreciate just how scenic and demanding the day was.
Fuelled for Success
For the first time on tour, players had a choice of sausage or bacon breakfast barms, and a classic post-round feast of Fish & Chips followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding with ice cream. “You can’t beat a bit of stodge after a hilly 18 holes!” said one GBT Member.
Teknobu Tiger Says…
What a fascinating day of golf at Blackburn GC – a course that asked all the right questions and gave very few easy answers. Let’s take a closer look at the numbers and what they tell us about the challenge this layout posed…
The Scoring Curve:
With only one player breaking 40 points and most scores clustering between 30–36, it’s clear Blackburn was no walk in the park. The greens and tricky tee shots took their toll, especially on the Par 3s – just four players managed 34 points or better.
Guest Grit:
Vinnie Jones took guest honours with 36 points – a level par score on a demanding layout. That kind of consistency on unfamiliar terrain is impressive and shows he’s a player to watch in future events.
Comeback Kid:
Steve Critchley returning with a strong 37 was a highlight. It wasn’t just his best round of the season – it was the best shape we’ve seen him in physically, and it clearly translated into sharper course management.
Big thanks to our Tour sponsor Teknobu, and Nearest the Pin Sponsor Lupr.

Teknobu Tiger Take Away…
Congratulations
“Control over power, patience over panic.” Blackburn GC rewarded the thinkers, not the smashers. And as always, those who kept the ball in play and avoided the big misses were the ones smiling at the prize table.
Oh, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding? Just as sweet as that final drive down 18.
