The GBT2024 Tour Final: Dundonald Links – Where Legends Are Made!
What a spectacular finale it was at the iconic Dundonald Links! This year, the GBT2024 Tour delivered drama, tension, and laughter in true GBT style. From Steve Critchley donning a kilt to “prove” his Scottish roots, to the unforgettable 18th green where nerves were tested, our finalists put on a show for the ages. And, after a thrilling battle, Martin Rayner clinched his second title—securing his place as a double GBT champion.
The day kicked off with caddies prepping bags like pros and the finalists warming up with the kind of focus usually reserved for Open Championship players (or people avoiding three-putts). A light-hearted first-tee briefing and some banter set the tone for the day. As the game progressed, the leaderboard was as unpredictable as the Scottish weather—anyone could’ve taken it. By the 16th hole, it was neck and neck; the excitement reached fever pitch as everyone’s nerves kicked in!
In the end, Martin Rayner, guided by his trusty caddie Tim Roberts, held his composure when it mattered most, securing a one-point victory and the bragging rights as the GBT’s only two-time champion. A massive thank you to everyone who made the event spectacular, from the players and caddies to our loyal GBT members—here’s to 2025!
