Reddish Vale Golf Club

Thursday 8th July 2021

100 acres of the most perfect land you could ever wish for, combined with Alister MacKenzie’s genius eye, have created a unique golf course that is quirky and fun. No two holes are alike on the course here, and with excellent greens and fantastic views from the clubhouse this course is a favourite of the many that play here. At 6000 yards in length and with a par of 69, Reddish Vale is not a test of who can hit the ball the farthest; it is a far more intriguing and strategical challenge than that. This is a thinker’s course where you need to plot your way round…

Occupying around 100 acres of the Tame valley, Reddish Vale Golf Club unusually has 7 holes in Lancashire and 11 in Cheshire. This is due to it being divided by the river Tame which winds through the course.

Founded in 1912, the par 69 course is somewhat unconventional with four of the five par 3’s on the scorecard played on the front nine. Reddish Vale was designed in 1912 by the World famous golf course architect Dr Alister MacKenzie and is the most interesting and spectacular golf course in the whole Manchester area. The layout attracts attention and reviews from leading course architects worldwide including Tom Doak.
